Jimmy Seng Obituary

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Denton United Methodist Church, with Pastor Brad Barrows officiating.  Interment is in the Sunnyside Cemetery, followed by a luncheon back at the church.  Memorials have been established to Tabatha of Crete.  A viewing will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.  Pallbearers are:  Kenneth Stewart, Troy Henning, Todd Tews, Justin Henning, Connor Stewart, Carter Stewart and Seth Brethouwer.  

 

Dr. Jimmy Seng was born January 23, 1942, in Omaha, Nebraska, the second of three children born to Dr. Willard G and Helen (Johnson) Seng and passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019, in Crete, Nebraska at the age of 77. 

Jimmy grew up and was raised in Oshkosh, Nebraska, later graduating from Garden County High School with the class of 1961.  He furthered his education at the University of Nebraska and later medical school in Omaha.  His residency was completed in Oakland, California.  Jimmy joined the ROTC in college and served in the Air Force for four years, stationed in Spain and England.  After his discharge, Jimmy traveled to Africa where enjoyed a safari experience.  He returned to the United States, living and practicing medicine in San Francisco, later moving to Eureka, California where he and other Doctors started a medical Clinic.  After retiring, Jimmy moved to Nebraska where he lived the rest of his life close to his sister. During high school, he was quite the athlete, playing football, basketball and enjoyed water and snow skiing in Jackson Hole and Lake Tahoe.  Jimmy had a wonderful personality, always fun to be with and had a great sense of humor and loved life with much enthusiasm.  Everybody loved Jimmy who knew him.     

Dr. Jimmy is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Marcia and George Stewart, two nieces and spouses, Jill and Todd Tews, both of Denton, Cari and Troy Henning, Crete, seven grand nieces and nephews, and three great grand nephews and a niece.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Seng.
