A gathering to celebrate Betty's Life will be from 3:00 p.m to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the Beaver Crossing Community Hall. Memorials may be directed in care of the family for future designation.
Betty Jane Howard was born February 16, 1960, in Lincoln, Nebraska to William and Diamond (Hamlin) Howard, the youngest of four children and passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Seward.
As a young girl, Betty attended Lincoln Public Schools and later furthered her education by attending Southeast Community College-Lincoln Campus where her studies focused on Special Education. Betty was united in marriage to Robert Murphy and to this union a daughter, Amanda was born. She was blessed with a later marriage to Mick Hogue, and to this union a son, Matt, was born. She worked at the Love Library in Lincoln and later she was a health care worker helping at a mental health center in Lincoln. Most recently, Betty was engaged to Brad Lacey and were looking forward to spending their lives together.
Survivors include her daughter, Amanda Mann, Lincoln, son, Matt Hogue, also of Lincoln, a granddaughter, Kelli Evans, grandsons, Koby Evans, Hayden Hogue, a great-granddaughter, Emberlynn, brothers, Bill, Bob and George Howard, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents.
