Carol Ann White

Carol Ann White was born on August 17, 1956, in Friend, Nebraska. The 2nd of 6 children both to Homer W. and Genive V (Steider) Smetter and passed away 8/27/2023 at 5:50 A.M. in Friend at the age of 67 years and 10 days.

            As a young girl she attended Beaver Crossing Public School and graduated with the class of 1974 from Centennial High School. She then went to work for Russel Stovers, Verna’s Café, and later at Crestview Care Center. She united in marriage to Kenny White in 1976. Between the 2 of us 4 children were born. Wendy, Eric, Nathan, and Brent. She loved to keep up with her kids and grandchildren. She loved the Nebraska Cornhuskers and watched every chance she had. Also loved to fish. Her kids and grandkids were the love of her life. If she ever felt down, she would just think of her kids and grandchildren.

            She is survived by her husband Kenny White, Beaver Crossing, NE; children and spouse, Wendy White, Seward NE; Eric White, Nathan White and Brent (Holly) White all of Beaver Crossing, NE. One brother, Ronnie (Jan) Smetter of Lincoln, NE; 4 sisters and spouces, which there is 2 sets of twin sisters. Judy (John) Kunert, Tracy Payne, all of Beaver Crossing, Terry Schmailzl and special friend, Rob Fredrick, of Lincoln with 2 great-granddaughters, 6 grandchildren with 2 sets of twins. Alexa Schwartz of Kearney, NE; Alex Preslicka of Bradshaw, NE; Miranda Elznic of Seward, NE; Madison Elznic of York, NE; Jarret and Jagger White, both of Beaver Crossing, NE; and a host of other relatives and friends.

            Carol was preceded in death by her father, Homer in 1999; her mother, Genive in 2006; sister Janet Smetter in 2020; Mother and father-in-law Clarence and Bunny (Verna) White; grandparents Bill and Carrie Smetter; Vernon and Dorothy Dickey; Elmer Steider, brother-in-law Lonnie Miller in 2018, granddaughter Skylar ELznic in 1999, and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be Wednesday August 30, from 5-8 P. M. at the Friend Funeral Home. The family will meet and greet friends and relatives from 6:30-7:30 P.M.

GraveSide Services will be held Thursday August 31 at 9:00 A.M. at the Beaver Crossing Cemetery.
