Edwin George Hamilton (Ted), 85, went home to our Heavenly Father on Monday, March 1, 2022. He passed away peacefully at his home in Friend, NE, surrounded by his loving family. Ted was a resident of Rock Springs for 72 years before moving to Friend, NE in 2009.
Mr. Hamilton was born on July 17, 1936, in Rock Springs, Wyoming; the son of Ambrose Hamilton and Christine Russold. As a young boy, "Ted" as he was affectionately known, attended schools in Rock Springs, Wyoming, graduating with the class of 1954. He furthered his education by taking schooling to be certified to operate the Sewer Plant for the municipality of Reliance, Wy.
Mr. Hamilton married Mary Mae Pandalis on December 3, 1954. With this union they had 3 children Peggy Lynn, Michael Andrew and Lisa Marie. They later divorced and he married Marilyn Nelson. Following the second divorce, he met Dorothy Jackson in 1982, they married on December 31, 1986. With Dorothy he found his happiness as they have been married for 39 years. This union included 2 step-daughters; Stacey Jo and Dorothy (Dee Dee).
Ted worked at his father's furniture store, Hamilton Furniture in his early years. He also worked for Union Pacific Railroad, Champlin Petroleum, City of Rock Springs Housing Authority, Reliance Water System. He owned and operated B&R Trailer Park for 20 years. Ted and Dorothy owned and operated 1st Street Liquor in Friend, Ne, before finally retiring to his "HE SHED". Ted was a member of the Elks Club and Eagles Club for many years.
Ted loved his huge, blended family and they always came first. He could be somewhat mischievous; was a bit of a "wheeler dealer" and possessed a stubborn streak. Ted was a lover of a good joke and a connoisseur of scotch and wine with dinner. Ted's heart belonged to the family cabin on Half Moon Lake, outside of Pinedale, Wyoming. It was here where there was always work to be done, but plenty of play as well. Boating, hunting, yearly fishing trips to Fayette; catching brookies in Sweeney Creek; daily "5 o'clock somewhere" garage meetings; and horseshoe games were a staple of life at Half Moon. The essential ingredient to happiness at Half Moon was being surrounded by family and friends.
