Services Wednesday September 7, 2022, 2:30pm at the Milford Mennonite Church.
Visitation Tuesday September 6, 2022, 2-8pm with family receiving relatives and friends, 6-8pm at Lauber Funeral and Cremation Services, Milford, NE.
Eugene Albert Czubowicz (Gene, Shorty) of Milford passed away Friday September 2, 2022, at Sunrise Country Manor at the age of 77. Gene was born in Lincoln, NE on May 5th, 1945, to Albert and Wilma (Nichols) Czubowicz.
Gene graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964. Upon graduation from high school Gene enlisted in the US Army. Gene worked for the Ruby Coop for 3 years, Alpo for 1 year, and Tamara Coop for 19 years after which he became a over the road truck driver until retiring due to health conditions. It was during his time on the semi that Gene accepted Christ as his personal Savior.
Gene attended college at night studying Fire Protection Technology and was a 40-year honorary member of the Tamora Volunteer Fire Department. Gene also was an avid model train collector.
Gene is survived by his sister Kathleen K. Czubowicz, Lincoln. Cousins Brett and Becky Stutzman, Kansas, Gary Nichols, Dorchester, Charlene Nichols, Pennsylvania, Jean and Chuck Eggeston, Beaver Crossing, Joan and Robert McLellan, Beaver Crossing, Judy Schmersal, Seward, Hope and Roger Gaster, West Point, Sue Nichols, Beaver Crossing.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, Chet and Dorothy Stutzman, Charles and Macie Nichols, Ervin and Zelma Nichols, cousins, Janet and James Craig, Jim Nichols, Gayle Nichols, and other relatives and friends.
Per Gene’s wishes his cremains will be scattered.
Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.
