Lonnie Ray Roth was born on July 19, 1943, on a farm near Milford, Nebraska to Ezra and Mattie (Eicher) Roth and left this earth on Friday, April 16, 2021, at his home in Lincoln.  He was 77.

As a young boy, Lonnie attended Milford Public School and moved to Seward.  He graduated with the class of 1963, fulfilling his promise to his mother. He was united in marriage to Janet Detweiler in 1964 and to this union Terry and Tracy were born.  He was employed with the Rural Electric Association as a lineman and later became a foreman for Burdette Schweitzer’s Construction Company.  Lonnie went out on his own and started, “Roth Construction” in Seward in the early ‘70’s.  Lonnie was blessed with a second marriage to Jeannie Minicz in 1979 and Lonnie embraced Jeannie’s daughter, Amy Stolley.  Together, they lived briefly in Staplehurst, before moving to Seward where they both worked at the Kawasaki Plant in Lincoln.  Later, they moved to York where they were employed at Sundstrand Aviation, where Lonnie eventually retired.  One of Lonnie’s passions was cooking, and he started “Prime Time Catering” where he enjoyed sharing his talent.  In his spare time, Lonnie spent as much time as possible outdoors.  He enjoyed playing softball and coaching baseball and was an avid hunter, fisherman and woodworker.  One of his greatest joys in life was helping people and spending time with his family and friends.  Lonnie moved to Lincoln in 2010 where he continued to find joy in time with friends and family.

Survivors include his son and a daughter-in-law, Terry and Janet Roth, North Walpole, NH, Tracy Roth and fiancé, Joe Ehlers, both of Lincoln, three great-grandchildren, Jenna, Rose and Karter Roth and their mother Inmaculada Jackman, sisters, Doretta Schweitzer and Imagene Burkey, both of Milford, a brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Sandy Roth, Fremont, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, a stepmother, Susan (Marner) Roth, his grandson, Tyler Ray Roth, in 2020, brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Barbara Roth, sister and brothers-in-law, Julie and Kenny Hafer, Darold Burkey and Ralph Schweitzer.
