A Joint Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., (along with his parents), on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Andrew Cemetery, along with his parents. Pastor Paxaio Baptista will officiate.

Richard Wood Redman, 66, of Nevada was born September 15, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska and passed away February 25, 2014 in Carson City Nevada. Richard grew up in California and attended Alameda High School graduating with the class of 1966. Following high school, he joined the Coast Guard and served as a Battalion Commander.

He was a known as a true outdoorsman belonging to the local jeep club, gun club and Mountain Man Organization. He enjoyed attending and participating with friends at the Mountain Man Rendezvous gatherings where they demonstrated their skills at tomahawk and knife competition. Long “gong” shooting for distance was a favorite sport of Richards and he was known as “Two Souls” by his friends. He enjoyed participated in many of their activities and parades.

Richard was a very loving and caring person particularly towards his family and close friends. His nieces and nephews were very important to him and he will be missed by them. A truer friend you could ever ask for.

He is survived by his sister, Barb (Redman) Morris, of Rancho Mirage, CA, brother-in-law, John Edward Morris, Louisville, KY, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives friends, both in California and Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Julie Redman Morris, brother-in-law, Charles Morris, his uncle Thomas Wood, Sr., and an aunt, Marilyn Wood Delfs.
