A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Grace Missionary Church, Milford, with Pastor Andy Petro officiating. A visitation is from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday at the church and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, also at the church. Burial is in Blue Mound Cemetery. Food and fellowship following the graveside back at the church. Memorials have been established to the Gideons International.
Richard V Stahly was born December 7, 1927, in Milford, Nebraska to John and Helen (Boshart) Stahly the second of four children, and passed away Monday, July 13, 2020, at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 6 days.
Dick lived on the farm and attended country school, after which he went on to attend Milford Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1946. He was united in marriage to Mildred Rediger on August 26, 1951. To this union a son, James, was born in 1958, at which time they moved to the family farm. Dick committed his life to Christ as a young boy and was a lifetime member of Grace Missionary Church. He taught Sunday School and sang in various groups. He served on the church board for many years and also served on the denominational board in Fort Wayne, Indiana for ten years. He was a faithful member of the Milford/Seward Gideon Camp.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred, son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Carolyn Stahly, all of Milford, three grandchildren and spouses, Mandie and Nate Drege, of Fargo, North Dakota, Megan and Jordan Shockman of La Moure, North Dakota and Caleb and Paige Stahly of Milford, six great-grandchildren, Elie, Becklyn, Branson, Rowan, Adley and Abel, sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Harold Slaight, Lincoln, sister-in-law, Shirley Rediger, Milford, nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Dorothy Stahly and Wayne and Jo Stahly, and a brother-in-law, Robert Rediger.
