As a young boy, Bob attended Country School District #113 in Lincoln.  After his schooling, Bob went to work for the Burlington Northern Railroad and was later drafted into the US Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean War.  After being wounded in combat, he was honorably discharged and returned to Lincoln.  Bob was united in marriage to Marlene Jones and to this union two children were born, Robert Jr and Vicki.  Bob was a car salesman for A&D Auto Sales for several years.  He was blessed with a second marriage to Karen Roberts on December 31, 1965 in Lincoln and to this union a daughter, Tammy, was born.  Bob liked being a scout leader and going on canoe trips on the Niobrara River on several occasions.  He also loved deer hunting season as well as going on camping trips and other vacations.  He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Lincoln, the Military Order of the Purple Heart and also attended many funerals of their brothers in arms who have died.  One of his biggest highlights was participating in the Veteran Honor Flight to Washington DC in October of 2013.  He was humbled by the number of people who witnessed their return to the Omaha Epply Airport.  Afterwards, he  was interviewed by the Smithsonian for a PBS documentary as well.  Bob was a very kind, generous and strong man who will be missed by all who knew him.

Bob is survived by daughters, Tammy Wallman and significant other Kenneth Kempton, Lincoln, Rose Wecker, of Friend; sons, Robert Jr. and Velma “Edie” Wallman, Seward, Frank and Cheryl White, Calvin White, all of Lincoln; 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; a brother, William Wallman, Lincoln; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
