Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at East Fairview Mennonite Church, Milford, with Pastors Lamoin Lytle and Lance Riley officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 4, from 2-5:00 p.m. at Lauber Funeral Home and from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with family at East Fairview Mennonite Church. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Milford. Memorials have been established to the family for future designation. Pallbearers are Javin Troyer, James Ring, Joe Havlat, Andrew Masten, Justin Troyer and Ben McCullough.
Samuel R. Troyer was born October 5, 1965, in Seward, Nebraska to Lauren and Verba (Schweitzer) Troyer, the 6th of 8 children, and passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln at the age of 55.
As a young boy, Sam attended Milford Public Schools and later Faith Christian School in Beaver Crossing, graduating in 1983. He was employed with Roth and Troyer Construction, working there for over 35 years. Sam also worked for Burkey Farms until his passing. On June 29, 1984, he was united in marriage to LeAnn Kremer and to this union three children, Samantha, Savannah and Javin were born. They also were blessed to add James to the family in 2011.
Sam had a “unique” sense of humor, loved gardening, and raising cows and his many chickens to provide for his family. Sam loved being a loving husband, father and grandfather, whom they called “Papa T”. He enjoyed giving the grandkids 4-wheeler rides and mountain dews. Sam was a member of Family Life Assembly of God Church in Milford and enjoyed going on mission trips with No Greater Love Ministries. He also was involved with other mission trips over the years.
Sam is survived by his wife, LeAnn; children and spouses, Samantha and Joe Havlat, Dorchester, Savannah and Andrew Masten, Loomis, NE, Javin and Elise Troyer, Kearney, James Ring, Lincoln; 10 grandchildren, Hunter, Hannah, Hayden Havlat, Kaydence, Lydia, Cam and Joseph Masten, Easton Troyer, Brielle, Madden Ring, father, Lauren Troyer, Milford; brothers and sisters and spouses, Larry and Debra Troyer, Seward, Becky and Jim Stutzman, Milford, Sheri and Nate Peachey, Greensboro, NC, Jim and Kelly Troyer, Milford, Anthony and Nora Troyer, Milford, Ron Troyer, Beaver Crossing and John and Jodi Troyer, Dorchester; parents-in-law, Gary and Carolyn Kremer, a sister-in-law, Lisa Kremer, all of Milford; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Sam was preceded in death by his mother, Verba in 2020.
